New Additions to Our Sound Healing Collection: Instruments We’re Loving Right Now
Discover the newest instruments we’re using in our sound healing practice, including Burma Bells, Meinl Sonic Energy Seed Chimes, and a dazzling Crystal Harp. Learn how these tools can transform meditation and sound baths.
At Seasons of Sound, we’re always exploring new instruments that expand the beauty, depth, and therapeutic resonance of our sound baths and yoga classes. Recently, Jessica and I have added a few incredible instruments to our collection, and we’re so excited to share them with you. These instruments not only enhance our sound healing practice but also create unforgettable experiences for our students.
One of my new favorite instruments is the Kyeezee, also known as a Burma Bell or spinning gong. I love to use this instrument at the start and close of meditation. Its shimmering, celestial tones seem to gently open the space and then seal the energy with grace. Right now, I have one in my collection, but I’m hoping to add a couple more soon to deepen the layering of sound.
The Kyeezee has a unique, spinning resonance that feels both grounding and uplifting, making it a beautiful complement to crystal singing bowls, Tibetan bowls, and gongs. It’s an instrument that immediately captures attention while calming the nervous system.
Another recent addition is the Meinl Sonic Energy Mixed Seed Chimes (Kenari, Bendo, and Pangi shells), and this has truly been a gamechanger in our sessions. When I first played them, my students said the sound reminded them of a babbling brook. The soft, percussive tones fill our yoga room in such an organic way, creating an atmosphere that feels both earthy and alive.
These seed chimes are made from natural nutshells, and their relaxing sound characteristics bring a grounded, nature-inspired element into sound baths. I especially love walking them slowly around the room after savasana, letting the flowing-water sound ripple through the space as students gently transition back into awareness.
Jessica recently added a crystal harp to her sound healing toolkit, and it’s nothing short of dazzling. Tuned to 432 Hz, the crystal harp has a bright, angelic tone that adds a sense of wonder and elevation to the soundscape. She often plays it toward the end of our sound baths, and the effect is breathtaking—the room fills with sparkling harmonics that leave everyone feeling uplifted and renewed.
The crystal harp is both visually stunning and sonically powerful, offering a melodic complement to bowls, gongs, and chimes. It’s an instrument that brings lightness and joy, perfectly balancing deeper, grounding tones.
Sound healing is such a dynamic practice, and every instrument adds new dimensions to the experience. From the grounding resonance of Burma Bells to the nature-inspired sounds of seed chimes and the celestial tones of the crystal harp, each instrument enriches the way we guide students into rest, meditation, and transformation.
Whether you’re a yoga teacher, meditation guide, or simply curious about sound healing, exploring new instruments can spark creativity and help you connect with your community in fresh, powerful ways.
